Our 5 ways of contribution for a healthy4all food system

1

Unlock the flavour of a plant-based plate

Innovation

Our research department dives deep into the ‘plate of 2030’, leading our way through the food transition. We base our recipes on the scientific research of EAT-Lancet: more plants, less meat, with additional legumes and grains. To encourage healthy eating, nutritious food needs to be accessible and delicious. By blending culinary expertise with scientific taste research, we transform dietary challenges into vibrant, plant-focused dishes people love to eat again and again.

The EAT-Lancet Commission promotes the scientifically proven ‘Planetary Health Diet’, advocating for plant-based eating and sustainable farming to enhance health and environmental sustainability, addressing global challenges like climate change and dietary diseases.

“Advanced treatment and irrigation systems enable us to reuse water in the fields”

Environmental care is the norm

Sustainability

Our commitment to transforming the food chain paves the way for a better, greener future with minimal carbon footprint

1. Reducing energy by using alternative energy, heat pumps, efficient cooling systems, and HvO/ H2 fuels.

2. Reducing packaging by minimizing packing materials, using thinner foils, and swapping single-use plastics for biodegradable options.

3. Reducing food waste through better forecasting, optimised pack sizes, and continuous lean efficiency projects.

3

LEAN the way to create value

Affordability

Resources are scarce, so we must maximise the potential of every source to protect the planet while staying affordable. LEAN helps us drive our efficiency, sustainability, and smart production. 140 internally educated LEAN professionals from all levels work on projects focused on reducing, recycling, and reusing at every opportunity.

Being smart helps everyone in the chain to produce more sustainably and add value to the total chain

Some of our LEAN results:

  • Decreased waste worth half a million euro
  • Improved endive production and saved a quarter of a million euro
  • Increased capacity in our pizza production line by 40%

Ensuring supply through partnership

Availability

We ensure availability by proactively addressing the many food supply chain challenges in the long and short term.

Ingredients by building long-term relationships with 100+ growers and suppliers and partnering in new farming technology

Labour by continually developing our workforce and increasing automation and robotisation for heavy, repetitive work.

Production capacity by investing in our facilities for the growing volumes and all new innovations.

“We tried three times, failed twice and the last time, we hit the jackpot with our extremely successful ready-to-cook soups”

Learn fast, fail fast

Agility

In a constantly changing world, agility is the key to success. We test, learn quickly, and adapt, viewing failures as learning opportunities. Everyone in our network, from factory workers to those stocking the shelves, adds value. To us, collaboration and adaptability are essential to providing food that feeds the entire chain.
